Default Is there a J-Spec Difference?

Argumental question I need answered. I always thought that the JDM b18c1 was rated at 178, now I have someone telling me that there is no such thing, that only the 94-95 GS-R's are rated at 178 because they are obd1. Whats the story?

The JDM B18C in the SiR-G (the JDM GSR) has a slightly higher CR (10.6:1 instead of 10:1 like we have), this is probably why it has slightly more power.

All you have to do is get some ITR pistons and you'll bump your CR up to the J-Spec standard. You can also slap on ITR cams, Cam Gears, and Tune it with a V-AFC and you'll be puttin down much more power than the J-Spec SiR-G's...

What I'm asking is...is there actually a JDM b18c1? A japan-spec rated at 178hp? Someone on a different board is trying to tell me that there isnt, only that the ones rated at 178 are simply 94-95 odb1 engines.

Yes there is a JDM b18c1 (not sure if thats the right code). Its called hte Integra SiR-G in japan and is rated at 178hp or so. 94-95 obd1 engine's do NOT output more than obd2 engines. They're rated at the same HP and Torque...

Both the JDM ITR and JDM SiR (Integra) are b18c. There is no number after the the'c'

You're talking about JDM engines, right? Not JDM vs. USDM?

The JDM B18C (SiR-G) motors come at a 178-180hp rating. Compression is at 10:6:1

The US version B18C1 is rated at 170hp. Compression is somewhere around 10:0:1? Shhh... Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't even know

If both engines (USDM and JDM) both have b18c or b18c1 stamped, is there still a difference in the engines if they have the same engine code? Meaning does the USDM and JDM have the same engine code even though the JDM has higher hp output?

JDM B18C is rated at 180ps (178bhp)
USDM B18C is 170bhp

Now to clear up the Si/SiR/siR-G thing

Si is the JDM version of the GSR
Si-G is the above car in 4 door
SiR is the JDM integra with the straight head lights made from 95- (JDM conversion!)
SiR-G is the above car in 4 door form
