Default Testpipe help

i'm new to this and they finally let me post something. i have a 01 gsr and was thinking about getting a testpipe. my question is what should i do when the check engine light comes on because of the o2 sensor? i ask this because my friend used to have a hollowed out cat and his check engine light always went on. and also, what size testpipe would i need to get to fit my stock exhaust and headers?

don't worry about the check engine lite. use 2.25" pipe, unless u gotta jdm 4-1 type r header, then u'll need 2.5" piping

well its going to go on no matter what, you have catylitic converter failure (obviously). you can always try the "plug up the holes and wrap up the o2 sensors really really tight trick", but i wouldnt.

thanks for the help. one more thing. if i just leave the sensor unwrapped will it eventually get damaged from the excess flows. and will having my check engine light on mess with any computer or ecu stuff that would change the performance of the car? thanks again for the help.

I have a brand new test pipe for a 01 GSR that I never used. You can have it for $45.00 shipped if you're interested.

i used to have a test pipe in my type r it should go on after a certain number of miles... i used to reset my ecu just so i dont have to see that stupid light... im not quite sure but i believe that it makes your car run in safe mode... i think it dumps more fuel cuz your ecu is thinkin your running lean or sumptin like that

I've run one from time to time for short periods on my OBDIIa GSR. It turns on the CEL but doesn't send my car into "limp" mode. I'm not thoughtless about the consequences, but at the same time you don't see people whining about everybody buying these 80 ton eyesore trucks like the Ford ex-lax-cursion. These gas guzzling giant toasters dump pollution and smash the roads to crap costing everybody for road repair. Don't worry though Ford promises it WILL fit in your garage...with minor modifications. M1 tank anybody?

Yeah they don't smell fresh as a summer breeze. Perhaps you had a leak at the donut? It really isn't that bad without a leak.

Pull the o2 sensor into the cabin. Wrap it up nicely with aluminum foil. Zip tie the sensor down to something to hold it in place. No CEL's.
