Default Testpipe for better performance?

Will a testpipe increase the performance of a Normally Aspirated (Non Turbo and Non SC) integra GS-R? Or will that only works with force induction?

yeah i noticed a difference but just dont get caught, i havent dyno it yet to see the difference, but i had to because the colector on jdm header was longer than stock collector, and also tack welded stock cat heat sheild on the bottom of cat just so it looks like i have a cat, but cops could still tell because you smoke alot more and all you smell is unburnt gas.

I notice that you have some mods like cams, gears, etc. Would it be the same if the engine does not have any mods on it. Would it make sense to use in the local solo X or solo 1 events.

THanks

i saw a big diff on mine . . . . more tourque, so i would say good for scca too .
it would still make power if no other mods. but i wouldnt do it without at least other mods 1st. it wont help as much until , you got header, and exhaust.

I do not have a header but already have an exhaust. Did youhave any problems witht he check engine light after the testpipe? What about noise?

When I had my test pipe the car smelled sooooo bad I could barely breathe when I stopped at the light. Oh and I could never open my windows either. The performance on the hand was noticable. After about 5000 rpm the car pulled really hard. This was with a stock Type R muffler too. Now that I have the carsound cat and RSR exhaust the car doesn't pull as hard. At least thats what I feel, but it could be in my head. At leat my CEL light isn't on anymore, that was really annoying.

omg, rofl.. what happened?

Don't listen to the guys about the legality about the missing cat, because god knows how much trouble I will get in without my posted CARB stickers.. I don't recommend running all the time with a test-pipe or open header, it smells like gas all the time.. I ran open for a good 6mos (daily driver ) and putting the sound aside, the smell and emissions seemed the same as when running with full exhaust and no cat.. I now have a Hedman 2.5" high-flow cat that I picked up for $80 new, and I would recommend that over test-pipe to anyone who asked.. If u have the ability to switch out the test-pipe for a cat before an event, then by all means, but for the 'normal' daily-driver-type guy, roll the high-flow, it's well worth it..
