test pipe questions??
ok,
header is on the way, and i have read posts about guys that run a test pipe or cat replacement pipe,...whichever you prefer. few questions: If i get the measurements and deminsions do you think a local muffler shop could fabricate one? Is there anything special about it? does it need to have an O2 bung set in?
And also, in your oppinions...for occasional use is it worth it??

easy to make one.
use a resonator/cherrybomb if possible for a deeper tone.
measurements are needed, as well as orientation of the two flanges relative to each other and relative the O2 sensor bung location.
O2 sensor location may be needee as well.
I cant remember if OBD2 cars have two O2 sensors in the cat...?

They should be able to make to make you one, but good luck getting them to....
Big fines if they are caught. I think if they do not install it you would be fine.

If i remember right, both the sensors are on cat on my '96 gsr. So if i got a cherry bomb to replace my cat, I would have to have the muffler shop fit the sensors onto the cherry bomb? I was looking at a test pipe awhile back because i was replacing my header. After i noticed the location of the sensors, and no one around here knows anything about it. I just didnt mess with it, but i never thought about a cherry bomb. If i leave those 2 sensors out if i do a cherry bomb, would that **** **** up?

so do i have to remove the cat and have them measure it out to make one, that means having to drive around without anything...not cool. If i could find somewhere that as the deminsions of the test pipe fr construction could i just give them that info or do they need to have the cat there to properly construct it?
I've seen them forsale online and for sale on Ebay, some people who make them but make a little extension out the side of the pipe containing the cat converter fibers where the o2 senson plugs in, I'm not sure if this is what you guys are calling a cherry bomb or not.
So since i have obd2, is there a way i can put a test pipe on? Or am i stuck with the cat? Like say, when you run straight headers your header is not connected to the cat. But the cat is there with the o2's pluggd in. I did that once for the track, but would be cool to put a test pipe in if possible.
