test pipe with comptech header
does a 2.5 inch test pipe (like GOD'S) work with comptech header and stock exhaust on a 95 gsr?
is it possible to just bolt off the test pipe, and also bolt on the cat when im not at the track?

Revolutions [revolutions@ecol.net] has testpipes that are resonated, a cherry bomb really, with flanges already in the right spots and an O2 bung if your car needs one. They have them / make them for every teg model I think.
ready to bolt in and cheap too... not as cheap as GOD's but they do the trick and help the car sound a bit deeper. Here is a pic of one on my 94 GSR with Apexi header and N1 catback. I am VERY satisfied with the results, although they have only been tested on my butt-dyno. Sound wise there is a nice improvement in tone.

oh yeah, answers....
the well known 'GOD's testpipe' is designed to work with JDM sized collectors, hence the "2.5 inch" name.
You will not be able to use this on a non-2.5 inch collector/header.

comptech makes a test pipe...it would probably work pretty good with a comptech header

backfire? hahahaaaaa, I WISH it would backfire!
I wish it would shoot 3 foot flames on downshifts too. I really do.
nope never does, sometimes it burps a bit, but that is very mild an dI have heard non-testpipe civics/tegs do that with aftermarket catbacks.

the first time I had a test pipe on my teg, I almost sh@t my drawers, it backfired so loud and I was on the highway going through an underpass. Damn, everyone was staring... I wonder if there were flames? Funny though only backfires on a 1-2 upshift. Weird man, just like the damn tranny would pop out of 2nd in a left hand curve.

I called Comptech today. They only have test pipes for 94-99 GSR. I wanted one, but mine is a 2000 so it's different.
I need some help! Would the check engine light come on with a test pipe? even if it has bung for the O2 sensor? how do you turn it off?
If heard of people say that there is NO gains with a test pipe?? Is that true? If not, what kinda of HP gains am I looking to get? Thanks

OBD2 (96+ or 97+, I can't remember) have a second O2 sensor. It is there to make sure that your cat is being used.
If you run a test pipe you will have a CEL.
One way around that is to have a sensor bung with a little bit of catalyst in it to "fool" the O2 sensor.
