Probly not, but it's illegal In the U.S. to run a test pipe, and it sounds raspy as heck, so I wouldn't run one if i were u. A high flow cat would be much better.

You live in CA. This is just begging for trouble.

Test pipes are for "Off-Road Use Only".

Stock, or high-flow converter. End of story

I'm running a test pipe... Absolutely no affect on sound, no affect on gas mileage. No problems besides passing emmisions. END OF STORY

Actually when i was running a test pipe on my car with stock cat back it wasn't raspy unless the resonator was removed. But after i put my buddy club spec II on and yeah I don't know if the exhaust is designed to be raspy/loud or if the test pipe caused it. Also with test pipe installed it will give you top end power, but it will also give you LITTLE bad gas mileage, but nothing noticeable.

Edit: well i have bad gas mileage because I'm also running a ecu and some other mods.

BC Spec II is LOUD as F@*K no matter what pipes are on it, even with the silencer in there.

As somebody in the slammed thread said, the silencer only makes it go from stupid loud to just hella loud

a test pipe isn't gonna make any more power than a high flow cat. i would get a high flow cat because depending on the exhaust it can change the sound and it usually does stink.

exactly what I was going to say..... when I had a test pipe, the car's tone was a little deeper, but everytime you come to a stop light, or get out of your car....you end up smelling just like your car!

If you live in California, running a test pipe is great way to get into trouble....just get a high-flow cat or stick w/ what you have....

I am currently running a Megan 4-2-1 2pc header with a Skunk2 Test pipe, AEM V2 and a Apexi WS2 Cat back exhaust on a 95 LS, and it isn't any louder then having the cat in the mix, maybe a little bit of a deeper tone. I did notice a little bit of an impovement on power once I took the cat out, but not a lot. I will vouch for the smell, it dose stink once you remove the Cat, but I live in NH so I don't have to worry about emissions.

I bought the Skunk2 pipe from Evasive motor sports, they were the cheapest with shipping included in the price. I think it came to $113.

Hell, even cheaper, go to advance auto, but a foot of 2.5 inch piping for like $2 and make one yourself. only problem being the bung for the O2 sensor

ya a test pipe is gonna make ur exhaust louder, if u have an aftermarket catback. It shouldnt affect gas mileage however your probably gonna smell bad, but its the life u live for performance

there was an article in honda tuning about this, they installed a test pipe and two different types of hi flow cats, and the test pipe got ONE extra horse power over the hi flows. not a lot sense to pay ticket cost for one horsepower.

any type of alteration to your car's breathing and farting system is going to effect your gas mileage, for better or worse
