TEIN SS
Well I just recently put on TEIN SS on my car 3 weeks ago. My friend says that the springs settle on it. I bought it w/o the pillowball mounts. I don't see how they could settle...why do I say this? I say this because they are coilovers, on coils. It doesn't make any sense to me. I get some rubbing on my wheel wells left and right also. My tires are Yokohama AVS ES100's 195/50/15. My dampening setting is 8, which was the factory neutral setting which they came with. If I start running full stiff won't I mess them up and have to get them revalved? What do you guys think?

Re: TEIN SS (super_mut)
Is there a break in period on the TEIN SS...I run it pretty hard on canyon runs on neutral 8. I wonder if I'm messing it up...normal driving its no problem.

Re: TEIN SS (super_mut)
well..i had the SS for a while, i keep it pretty low for the ground and i'm only 3 clicks away from being the stiffest...everythin seem to be fine. i been running this settin for 3/4 of the year, no problem. For the break in period, i'm not sure but i'm sure that tein builts their coilover system to handle what is giving to them. Just dont over twist the stem.

There is always settling involved, even with pre-settled springs. Think about it, your taking a spring that has had little to no weight applied to it, and then applying whatever the weight of your vehicle is on top of them. It will compress them, because after all metal is malleable.
I am running TEIN HA's off of the ITR and I am running almost full stiff on them. I got my HA's used, and I run them fairly low and really stiff on the street. I know that continued abuse will eventually wear out the shocks and they will need revalving/rebuilding, so with that said, I would be gentle on them (somewhat), that way you know the will work properly down the road.
