Tein longevity?
I'm just curious on how long the tein coilovers last. I've had mine for over a year now so i'm just wondering if anyone has ever blown them or had any problems in the long run with them.
BTW i'm running tein SS.
You can always send them to tein to be rebuilt if something happens, as long as you can manage the downtime.
(one of the reasons I am fond of revalved koni yellows, can be rebuilt with out sending them oversea's

guys if you are willing to spend two grand on a suspension set up check these out. dual prgressive springs in the weight you want(you get to choose the spring rate) upside down shock body's for 40mm, 50mm, 60mm inner stanchions and they don';t require any special pillow mounts o work they use the stock ones in your car. why would you want to spend 650 for a non adjustable strut
they do make linear springs as well. and as far as rebuildability- you can do it at home with the purchase of their repair kits(which comes with tools) remember you pay for what you get. tein basics are not 650.00 unless you are buying them used or from adealer who doesn't care about dealer price protection programs. if i had to do it over again i would save up for ht e40mm street kit. rebound and compression dampening- shoose your own spring rate- superior strut design and stiffer feel-less body roll . do i have to continue

dampening adjustability is way overrated. I don't think most people know what a shock really does.
It doesn't take out body roll, it doesn't really make the car "stiffer". It simply controls the kenetic energy the spring obtains when it is compressed.
With out a shock, the spring would continue to rebound and recompress until all the energy had been spent. This of cource, would be bad, since as soon as you enter a turn you would be sent into a bounce fest where you would end up loading and unloading your tires again and again.
A valve with stiffer valving isn't going to control how much a spring can compress, it will control how quickly it compresses and rebounds.
Really where adjustments to the shock (different from front to back) is going to make a difference is entering a turn before the springs fully compress. Coming out of a turn while you are unwinding the steering wheel will have less of an effect.
