Default Tachometer doesn't work

I just got a 1992 Integra ls and my tachometer gauge doesn’t work, my other gauges work, but I was wondering if there is anyway I could find out why it is not working before I decide if I am going to buy a new tach or gauge cluster.

You might want to check your VSS (vehicle speed sensor) as well.

I take it back. I misread the question.

What I meant to say was check the distributor and ignition coil inside of the distributor.

If youre planning to change your cluster later on in the future minus well do it now rather than get a new tachometer only to change it later down the road. Unless you can fix it.

Not sure if that made sense or not.

i think i understand what you are saying. And if i can fix my tach im going to keep it like that, but if i can't im just going to go with a aftermarket one. But i would really like to keep the stock tach because i would rather spend the money on a different part, and i don't like having a gauge that doesn't work.
