Suspension Problem
I bought a DA from a local here in Hawaii and I was raising it a bit today because it was about 4 inches off of the ground and was very unhappy when I pulled off the tire.
He had put on Ebay coilover sleeves over the stock struts. No biggie, just go ahead and get an early Christmas present from my wife and get some Teins or Skunk2 coilovers. The problem is that when he put them on he didn't do it right. He only left one ring on the sleeve. I can tighten it up to the 8th thread but once I get it there the entire sleeve spins.
So I tightened the two front sleeves to this point and could finally see the top of the tire. I pulled off the rear driver wheel and just loose it. The sleeve completely drops out of the hole to the base of the strut, again only one adjustment ring.
My question is how do I fix this? Did he put the sleeve on incorrectly or did he use a sleeve not made for my car? I think it's going to come to me just buying stock springs until Christmas gets here because I have to get recon sticker so I can get a safety inspection done for my base pass.
Any ideas?
