stupid and i need help question???
the stupid question is does anyone know how to take off the acura emblems off the car SAFELY and not scratch the paint(on a 94 gsr)....the second question is i have a choice of getting new tires...they are michelin high performance (142.00 each), dunlop (137.00 each), pirelli (143.99 each)....if these are bad tires to get someone please tell me better ones and where i can find them i live in chicago IL, but for those 3 tires tell me which one i should get...i appreciate it thanx....peace
I'm pretty sure all this has been discussed before, but...
You can use dental floss behind the emblems. And when you get the emblem off, use a gunk remover on the residue that's left. Of course, you'll have two holes left (well, four for both emblems).
What specific tire from each manufacturer are you thinking about getting?

the thing is if i didnt need to buy tires i wounldn't be asking this question ...the reason why im getting new tires is that my car has had the same tires since 94 and i jus bought it used...and there is absolutly no trac..peace
pirelli. i would say them . they get good ratings on the tire websites. if youw ant more info go to http://www.tirerack.com or http://www.discounttiredirect.com and they will give you the report on the tires you want.
get the yokohama A520 or the khumo ecsta supra. that is if they are 15's, if you have 16's or 17's then get the yokohama parada tires, not michelin, pirelli, maybe dunlop. those yokohama's should be cheaper as well. if you are in chicago, go to the local discount tire co.

There's plenty of high performance tires that are under $100; your prices seem a little high, that is, assuming you're getting them for 15s. People seem to like the Kumho Ecsta Supra's, and I have the Pirelli P700-Z--both should be around $63/tire at http://www.tirerack.com For some high season, high perf. tires, the Bridgestone Potenza RE730 and Dunlop SPs seem to be good choices as well.
What I had meant was, which tire from Michelin. Which one from Dunlop? And which from Pirelli?
You also did not tell us what size tire (unless we can assume >15", since the prices are so damn high).

IMO, the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s SUCK. I'm always sliding through turns that would not even phase my Dunlop SP8000s. I hate having less trust in my car because of the tires. They don't even come close to the limits that I could push the SP8's to. I haven't personally tried the SP9k's, but they are the successor to the 8k's. I heard that the only difference between the two (SP9's vs. SP8's) is that the SP9's have better traction in the wet.
You're in Chicago? Doesn't it snow there? (I'm from Cali, and I have no idea what this "snow" is.
) You might want to think about getting a set of steel wheels and throw some snow tires on 'em, when winter rolls around.

Decide if you want Summer only tires or year-round tires. Most of the tires recomended above are summer tires. These will not work well in snow, slush etc. Summer tires can out perform year-rounds. Don't get the stock Michellins - they're not very good. The Dunlop sp 5000 come in sizes VERY close to the stock & will fit on the stock wheels. These are MUCH better than the stock in ALL conditions and are cheaper besides. They are very good year-round. I'm sure you can get better in a summer tire, but don't use them in the winter. Also if you get summer tires, check their performance in the wet.
