Now, due to 2 or 3 circumstances I blew the head gasket on my B18A. Instead of just replacing the head gasket, I opted to have a valve job done and have the head cleaned up of carbon and all that stuff.

Now while i've been waiting for my head to return be completed. I have aquired the topend components for a B18B(springs, cams retainers). I actually took a micrometer to the different sets of cams and measured the differences between them. The B18Bs have about a .015" greater intake lift and a .025" greater lift in exhuast! Sweet huh?

I also have these items that will be installed at the same time I get my head back:

Custom - CAI
4-2-1 Header
Custom 2.25 catback exhust
Straight cat
MSD 6AL
MSD SS Coil
MSD Distributer cap
Autometer OIl pressure, Water temp, and A/F ratio gauges.

I was just wondering what kind gains I might see from all this? I mean i'm just gonna be happy to have my baby back on the road. I'm just curios....

Put in the bigger set and tell us how it did.

 

might try reprogrammed ECU with increased fuel maps and timing and raise ur redline slightly.
any way to increase ur compression? pistons and/or head gasket.
im thinking maybe 150's to the wheels

go turbo and forget what i just stated above
