Default Strange Electrical Problem, Please help!

hey guys, let me start by saying, thanks for reading, this is not the time of the year you want your car to be unreliable.

I was driving home from work last night when i noticed that my clock was really really dim, also, my ABS light was on, my headlights were dim, and my stereo cut out. when i got parked, i turned my car off, then just to confirm my fears, i tried to turn it on, a bit of a crank but not nearly enough. After i got push-started, i drove it around the block a few times, everything nice and bright, no ABS light. This morning i went to start it, started fine! after about 5 minutes of driving i realized my accessories were dimming again, it seems to be reversed when i turn off the stereo and defroster, but after riding around for about 30 minutes with everything off, it still didnt have enough power to get restarted. I'm thinking alternator, but it seems like it shouldnt have been gotten charged so quickly last night. what do you think?

more information: its record setting low temperatures the last few days here (-30 windchill), i have a 4 channel amp and its a 97 GS-R

I had the same problem, seems like Alternator problem, i got my replaced. fixed the problem if going to replace the ALT go to ebay and get yourself 170 AMP will provide a stronger output, faster charge and if your running a system will not drain the battery.
hope this helps

Make sure the battery terminals are clean and the connection is tight. Look for corroded or frayed wire strands at the connectors.
