steering wheel/column problem,need help.

(looking at the pic, #8 and #9, a case that covers the steering column. If I want to remove that, how would I do it, alot of screws/clips? Do I have to remove the steering wheel first? How difficult is it to remove and install back? Cause I don't want to damage the SRS system or anthing around it. People told me that you can just pop the case. true?
I had that off a few years ago, 'cause I had to get to my headlight switch. I don't remember anything difficult about it; couple screws from the bottom (#43) & it comes apart.
All I remember is just unscrew & take them off. You might have to tilt the column down to make room to get the top one off.
I believe all the airbag wiring is in bright yellow harnesses. Don't unplug any of that stuff & you'll be OK.

my car was broken into and they tried stealin the car. they took #8 and 9 off by just takin out the screws. they didnt mess with the steering wheel at all. just move the wheel up and down if you need to.

all you have to do is un screw the 2 bolts under the bottom case and then the top case will come off.. no need to take off steering wheel..
