Re: (Tizight)

Heres the steerign wheel too, which is off and the airbag has been replaced for some unknown reason, cause the car has never been in an accident according to carfax and couldnt find anything while looking at the exterior.

Re: Steering Wheel Column (TonyRomo)
did you just buy this car? It could have been in an accident even though the carfax was clean, it was just not reported. as far as adjusting it I truly dont know how. sorry.

Re: Steering Wheel Column (1dumbscreenname)
got the car like 4 months ago, the guy at acura looked it over and said it had not been in an accident. it has aftermarket control arms and all that junk i dunno if you have to tamper with the steering wheel or whatever when you change that.

Re: Steering Wheel Column (TonyRomo)
that whole shaft could be messed up somehow. at least see under there and look if everything is bolted up correctly...

no, the control arms wont have anything to do with the angle the steering wheel is at inside the cabin. remove the panel under the steering wheel, and dont forget the the little screw in the coin tray. and look around, make sure that everything looks right, but if the car doesnt drive wrong, and there is no issues with the steering (ie: shaking, groaning, tough to turn one way) then you may just have to live with it unless you replace the whole setup.

Re: Steering Wheel Column (1dumbscreenname)
might be that they tried stealing it .......When u grab the ignition to Brake it off with a Monkey wrench it will bend the ENTIRE column , BUt usually the other way the left side is USUALLY higher !!!lol

Re: Steering Wheel Column ({Sigur-Ros})
Does the plastic around the column move? You said it shakes sometimes....maybe its just missing a screw underneath....make sure all the screws are in place.

Re: Steering Wheel Column (JerzeyBoi)
no, lol its the whole wheel...thiers no plastic moving. Even if you hold the stearing wheel really tight and try to stop it, it will just end up shaking the rest of your body.

but right when you start driving the car from the dead stop it goes away.

its gets worse when the engine warms up.

I was thinking some bushing or mount went.

Re: Steering Wheel Column (TonyRomo)
Dont know if you still have the problem but heres the fix (I had the same problem with my EG)....

-There's 2-12mm bolts under the dash that hold in the steering column tight (right at the halfway point of the column)...loosen these up

-Next turn your steering wheel left and right to lock the steering column (make sure the key is out, you'll here a click when it locks)

-Now turn the steering wheel to the right, you may have to turn it fairly hard, this will spin the entire column.

-When you have the column straight...thight the bolts back up and enjoy your tilt column again.

Just a side note...get your column straight asap. Your wire harness for the lights gets pulled tighter when it is twisted and starts to rub on the steering column...this leads to wires shorting out...Trust me I know first hand

hope this helps...any further questons PM me

Re: (jomama)
Mine does the same thing, and yes, it has been stolen in the past. The ignition piece was hanging by the wires. I had to JB Weld it back into place, but the slope to the right still remains.

Re: (gsl_05)

theres one bolt like right there, loosen it then crank the wheel the way you need the column to move. you must make sure that prior to that step you have turned off the car and clicked the steering wheel into the locking position.

if this does not work, there is a piece right under the plastic thing behind the steering wheel that can be adjusted. it is only like one or two bolts to do that im sure you guys can figure it out.

the first step should do the trick tho, thats what it was for me.

good luck
