are starters something that you can reapair or just toss it and buy a new one? should i buy an acura one they want 230$$ or should i go to a pep boys and get one from them?

I think i will take it apart and see if i can fix if not oh well off to the store to buy a new one. i'll post pics on the web

 

hahaha maybe you can help me fix ove rthe web??? will i am thinking it could be the starter the car sometimes clicks then the next second it's quite then it cracks then one click then finally it starts up. all during turning the key. so thats what i am guessing

i could sell you my stock starter. i had to change my original one to a JDM starter because of the aftermarket flywheel.

there's absolutly nothing wrong with mine........make me a reasonable offer if your looking for one??

In the 92 year, are there 2 different starters - one for auto tranny and one for a manual?

 

I bought a used 92 LS starter for a swap I've been working on: 96 B18B1 with 92 YS1 tranny in a 91 CRX. The first starter I got never worked. I got a replacement one today but the end shaft is different which made me think it was for an auto tranny. It is a Mitsuba and the end shaft is longer than the broken one which I think is a Denso. So there is no difference between the auto and manual starter? I tested the one I got today and it works so I guess if there is no difference then I'll bolt it up tomorrow and hope it starts.

Whats the difference between a USDM and a JDM starter?

 

the starter teeth are cut slightly diffrently to properly match some of the aftermarket flywheels.

and they are made by a diffrent company as well............

 

so they are not interchangeable?
