I have a 90 integra 5 speed, the starter is giving me problems so I want to switch it out. My buddy has a starter from a 96 auto integra in his garage as well as 92 integra auto starter.

My question is if they are interchangeable, and yes I have searched but no clear anwers or experiences in the archives. Do I at least need to stick to a 5 speed starter?

 

yes i believe you do need to have a 5 sp. starter

 

does it matter what year its from???

 

i just changed my starter on my 95 teg today and when i went to buy one they needed to know if it was a 5-speed or auto and some sites ask 2 so i would guess it does matter .now for the year im not sure ..............
