Start Up Problem!?!?!?!?!
Hey how s it going thanks for looking and any info would help me out alot.
Well I have a 94 Civic Coupe with 94 Ls motor in it. The problem just started about 3 weeks ago. At first it would only happen once in awhile but now it happens all the time. Well here is the problem when I start my car it starts up right away but dies really fast so i try to start it again and the same thing it dies. I have to give it gas till it warms up and then its cool and runs fine. If anyone can help me thank you and if your one of those people that just come on here to give people a hard time then get off and get a life.

Hahahaha thanks for no help if I wanted to take it to a shop I would but I don't that is why I posted my problem up on here so someone can help me if you can't shut the hell up I don't need your dumb *** comments
yo it might be your starter and make sure da car is off and hit da starter with a pipe with a few taps then turn your car on it should turn on your car. Maybe you engine blew timing belt jumped?, car battery, ignition, spark plugs & wires? But if you tap the starter and it turns on you need a new one you get get brand new $160 but i found some spot $40 for new but might as well go new because theses cars are 17 - 20 years old so everything is wearing down. Good luck

Im the dumbass??
my advise would've taken you farther than this guys starter theory, which you beliving it shows even more the lack of experience you got and you really should bring you car to a shop before you break something. I was literally trying to help your rude ***
FYI your starter does NOTHING but turn the flywheel to get the crank rotating. You could literally eliminate it and just pop start you car and drivin around without it.
But what do I know Im just a dumbass right?

Yeah you are a rude dumbass!!!! I'm not going to check my starter I just wanted to be nice and let him know that his opinion was a good try, it was better than "take it to a shop". Is that what you do to all of the posts on here, you tell them to search and to go to shops lol. Man just dont post on my thread anymore unless u have something that is actually helpful... You talk about me having lack of experience this website if you dont know is for the people that have experience to share or help other people with little or no experience so for you to just come on here and say go to a shop that is really no F-ing help if you have so much experience then share with the people you can help out not post some dumbass comments thank you
If you were to check the starter you just tap it not bang it and it gives the car a final start but that's if its electrical problem it actually works if that's what need replacement. Also if you turn the key and you hear some type of engine noise then it can be something else more like mechanical and do a compression test but you said it runs at times so I have no idea. Anyway Good luck with your car

i would check the fuel filter. a buddy of mine had a problem like this and he had bad gas. you will need to drain the tank and put fresh gas in it. has the car sat for a long time in its life?
yeah thats what i was thinking that it might be the fuel filter or the fuel pump since it starts and then dies but then its koo when it is warm i will check it out thanks for the info i just needed someone to be on the same page as myself if anybody eles has anything eles that they want to add feel free thank you

your best bet if you really wanna learn yourself is find someone who has experience and work with them hands on. just reading instructions from random people can lead to disaster if you dont know better.
it wasnt just a dumbass comment its better than getting sent on a wild goose chase by dummys on a forum and ****ing your car up.

Id just swap a tb real quick cause both sensors are a ***** to change if they haven't been before.
Shouldnt be any reading at closed throttle I belive
Did you end up doing the fuel filter
correct .5-1v idle, 4-4.5v wot. koeo 0.5vdc. probe dmm pos. lead to signal, and neg. lead to good ground to confirm a good vref, signal, and ground all at once (koeo). faulty tps usually wont throw a cel.
well the fuel filter i am going to change anyway since it has been about 4 years since i did it. I just havent been doing anything yet cuz it has been raining here in CALI rain always makes me lazy.
Thanks man big help i will let you guys know what happens as soon as it stops raining over here.
Rain won't hurt anything jus make sure your airfilter and any other openings stay covered.
First thing id look at is that wire splice going to the tps before you assume the sensors bad

Yeah I never assume that a sensor is bad I always check it first I am going to check the wiring first and I know water won't hurt anything I just feel lazy when it rains I am going to do this tomorrow they said it wasn't going to rain
Im very surprised nobody pointed to IACV cleaning.... First thing i would do.
