SRS code 5-2 bad srs unit!
I figured out the srs code, its 5-2 'srs unit failure'.
This is of course bad news, i want a functional srs system.
Now, according to the maintenance manual, this code could bne a sign of a week battery/alternator. So im gonna check the voltages, but as far as I know, if im geting 12 from the battery, and 14 with the engine on that means everything is good right?
So I might have to replace the unit. I have a 97 integra. According to acuraoemparts.com the 96/97 modules are the same part number, and the 98-2001 are different. So I would have to buy a 96-97. Im not spending 450 bux on a new one, so my only option is used.
Now, should I avoid units from cars that have had their airbags deployed?
Is there anything else I should check before buying a srs module?
