Default SQUEEEEAK!

One of my belts is squeaking .....when i turn on my car after its been sitting for a 4-5 hrs or more it SQUEAKS like no other for about 5 seconds...the problem is...i have alt/ac/timing belts...I was just wondering if there is any trick to finding out which one it is b4 i go and change one......any ideas? thanks

BTW: there is a slight squeak everytime i hit a bump or torque the motor...

hmm.. the only thing i could think of is.. just to simply listen. turn the car on, stick your head down as far as it will go w/o burning the **** out of the side of your face, or getting your hair/ear caught in a belt.. other than that, i cant think of any other way..

dude, timing belts dont squeak, 8 times out of ten the alternator belt is the only one that will squeak, just tighten the alt belt, dont mess with the t-belt unless it is due to be replaced.

1. Timing Belts do not squeak. If it does you are in trouble. (no teeth)
2. Apply a little soapy water to each belt individually and listen.
3. Check to see all of the ribs on each belt is not damaged.
4. If all else fail, retention each belt.

replsce your belts, problem solved. they are cheap and it takes alomsot as much work to replace them as to retention them.
