squeaky clutch... HELP!
my clutch squeaks, and its quite annoying.. any ideas? i've already sprayed the moving parts connected to the pedal.. it sounds like its coming from the engine side. i heard maybe its a bearing? time to replace the clutch maybe? it still grips, and no slippage.. yet... the car has about 97k miles on it...
PLEASE HELP!! its VERY annoying........

Check below the clutch pedal behind the carpet and see if it is wet with brake fluid (slippery squeaky feeling stuff). You will also want to check behind the firewall where the clutch pushes the rod to the master cylinder through. If so then your clutch master cylinder is blown.

So, to sum it all up, get your clutch master cylinder checked out now or in a couple weeks, but it sounds just like what happened to mine. It seems to be a common problem with the Integra since I've read about this happening a lot. That's how I knew exactly what was probably wrong with my car. Good luck.
Hey my car does this too.... MAybe i should take mine to the dealer to see whats up with it.. i just thought that it was maybe due to the fluid in it being dirty??
When does it make the noise? When you let the clutch out in 1st gear?
Mine sounded more like a cricket - I believe it was either the throw out bearing or a loose spring on the clutch disc, because it stopped making the noise when I changed the clutch.
If you have 97k on the original clutch, it's is probably time to change it.
Good luck amigo...

i have that squeak also but on a much more extreme basis. When i even start to depress the pedal i can feel and hear the squeak and it is LOUD. It makes that noise 'til the pedal is fully depressed, and it makes the noise again when i start to let off.. and doesn't go away 'til the pedal is all the way up. i sprayed WD-40 up in there, the only thing it did was make my car stink
i got down there but i still have no idea where the squeak is coming from. i suspected it was somewhere in the pedal assembly, but it doesn't seem to be coming from there. i'm pretty sure it's not a leaky master cylinder and the clutch pedal is still very firm. has anyone had this problem before?

BINGO! Same exact thing. You only feel it when you push slowly and let up slowly right? And you feel it more when it's almost fully depressed right? My clutch master and slave cylinders were replaced about 18,000 miles ago.... about a year ago... so i don't think it's that. Is it possible that the "gasket" the clutch actually goes through can get old? Any help would be great for both of us it seems.

a little search brought up the throw-out bearing didn't have sufficient grease on it anymore.. but i want to know if there might be some other cause, because taking out my tranny to fix a little squeak is going to be a LAST resort
i just replaced the master cyclinder about 2 weeks ago. it had a leak, but is now fixed. i heard it might be the clutch fork. any ideas on how to relube that thing?
To lube up the whole clutch fork you have to take the transmission off. If you decide to do this then get a Helms manual.
I also had the squeak since I bought my car. About four months of ownership the clutch pedal got soft and the car resented going into gear at times, so I had the master cylinder replaced. The squeak did not go away immediately (still had fluid on the master cylinder push rod or whatever it is called I surmise) and after awile I guess I just stopped noticing it or it went away, either way I'm not too sure. When I put in my new clutch/flywheel and began paying much closer attention to my clutch for a while, I did not notice a squeak. I can not be entirely certian if it went away on it's own or if it was the release fork making noise, but I am positive it came from the pedal and not the transmission area.

My friends are thinking that my master/slave went out on my clutch tonight. I had to drive 60 miles home, all while power shifting!!!
Im just wondering...how much does it normally cost to get these two things replaced?? thanks!!

The squeeking you guys are talking about is a worn throw out bearing. Over time the bearing wears out and it starts queking o enguagement/disenguagement. It is possible, the slave or master cylinder is going, but that should not make a noise. That will give you a mushy pedal and leaks, not squeeks. Hope this helps

VTECAcuraGSR-just for clarification, does this squeek come from the clutch pedal itself or from the transmission case?
Grand Prix-I didn't actually put in my master cylinder myself, but had a mechanic do it. Costed about $150, I think the part accounted for about $120 of that. E-mail the people at http://www.ahmotor.com for a parts quote.

I know that. My point is that the guy seemed to be asking about something that is to do with the clutch pedal and not the clutch itself (said he lubricated all the parts connected to the pedal, and I assumed he meant the pedal inside the cabin and not the path all the way to the clutch) The throwout bearing is in the clutch case, which is between the gears and the block. If the squeeking is coming from somewhere near the pedal, how could it possibly be the throwout bearing? I could of course be wrong as I am no expert, so I asked for some clarification as to what you were saying. Sorry I wasn't more specific.
Guys, this is also happening to me.. The noise is not comming from the transmission. its comming from around the clutch PEDAL . Its around the clutch slave(?) cylander (right next to the master cyl).
yea... your noise can only be heard from inside the car for the most part, right? same here. i think the rubber boot/gasket/seal thing (that is at, or goes through the firewall) that the rod connected to the clutch pedal is the cause... like it's dry or something.. any ideas?
Its your clutch slave cylinder, I had this problem. Its located on the outside of the tranny, on the left part. there is a silver fitting on it. There has to be some pressure applied to it or else you get that annoying squeek sound. Sometimes grease will work but more than likely it has to be replaced.
