Sqeaking!!!
Ok I just recently got brakes installed. The guy told me that my calipers had massive heat buildup on them and that I needed to get it fixed or I could do it later. I need to know what the loud sqeeking is it only happens when im coming to a stop after I have been brakeing for a few seconds.
Well if you have metal brakes they tend to squeak….. the ones from factory were ceramic and ceramic ones do not squeak……(so says my auto-shop instructor) but there is some brake silicon which you apply to the back of the brake pad itself and it is supposed to stop the squeak…you can pick it up and any local auto-store…sorry don’t have specific name but just ask for brake silicon…used it on my brothers car and it works great
...or just buy oem pads next time...the price difference isnt that great... generic non-oem pads (not talking performace pads) tend to have higher concentrations of metal in them to keep cost down... so they tend to be a little bit louder... oem pads are carbon-ceramic, and quieter... tell ur mechanic that the squeaking has nothing to do with ur caliper, but the the shitty pads he put in there instead...then throw them in his face... cause he's just trying to suck you dry... caliper service is expensive!
"generic non-oem pads (not talking performance pads) tend to have higher concentrations of metal in them to keep cost down... so they tend to be a little bit louder... oem pads are carbon-ceramic, and quieter" Hahah Thanks for being more technical than me
