Default Spoon programmed p72 vs VAFC

ok...after months of trying to find out what program is on my ecu, finally found out that it is the Spoon program. this is really cool, but its making my car run extra lean with the VAFC. the ecu by itself changed the vtec crossover to 4800, and leans the fuel out at higher RPM's. ive been leaning the fuel out on the VAFC. my spark plugs are only a few months old and are super white in color. So ive decided to get rid of the ecu in trade for a stock p72.

1st..am i doing the right thing? i'd rather keep the VAFC so i'd have more options later. and second...anyone SoCal peeps wanna trade me ecu's?

why are you leaning the fuel out on the VAFC is the ECU is doing that already?......shouldn't you up the fuel till you start running richer......

i didnt know my ecu was leaning out the fuel for me. i bought it from a guy who got it at a junk yard. i knew it was chipped but didnt know the program. putting it on the dyno would be an aduous task for the person tuning my car. plus i believe that prpgram is for a more built motor than mine. is it worth keeping?

I think instead of buying that stupid carbon fiber hood, you should have gotten this problem fixed and yer gears tuned ...

I doubt its a spoon program on there, all those reprogrammed P28 programs(spoon, mugen, skunk2) run REALLY rich, i mean really, so either your VAFC is screwing it up or its not really a spoon program

Like what nfn said, most of the Spoon and Mugen programs I've seen are usually rich. Also, spoon programs aren't for drastic NA cars...they're programs are closer to lightly modded, highly streetable cars. What setup are you running? Have you tried seeing if you could use the V-AFC to richen the mixture? If it works, then you won't need to get a new ECU.
