Default speedometer problem

First of all i want to say hi to everyone. I'm new here, but been browsing here for serveral months.

Well anyways, my speedometer has been acting pretty funny lately. It's been bouncing up and down and when i hit a bump it works and shows the correct mph (at least i think its correct). Well as of right now, it doesn't even work. I have not really done anything to it, but from the looks of it, it looks like the previous owner took out the cluster to glue those colored speedometer and tachometer things on it. The glue stains are still there. Well my friend encountered the same problem with his prelude, and told me its probably the speed sensor, but i really don't know. What do you guys think? Oh yeah, my car is a 2000 gsr.

make sure he didnt pull the speed neadle off. that will screw up your mph readings, or else might mess up the motor that moves the neadle

check your speed sensor, if a friend has an integra swap them for a little and see if his car gets the jumpy needle, if not then it could be an electrical problem
