Specific Power Window Questions: Need Help PLEASE.
I posted this in another thread but have additional Q's.
1. I thought my motor was bad, so I got another motor.
When I connected the wires to the new motor(not attached to the window yet), it spun for a while then it stopped. Does this mean it is my switch that has the problem, and not the original motor?
Note: The passenger side works (not the driver) and since they lead to the same wire, I assumed the control switches are okay. Was that a bad assumption?
The fuses are okay, btw.
2. If I need to replace the motor, I need to remove four bolts. Will the window "drop" and break once I remove all four bolts? Should I have someone hold on the glass?
3. If anyone has a nice procedure to replace the PW motor, I can really use it. I searched but no luck. I'll try again, maybe in non-Integra forum.
Thanks. It is a 98GSR btw.

do you have any kind of manual for your car ? Haynes ? Helms ? Chiltons ?
They will have a detailed process of taking the motor out. I replaced the regulator in my 98 Teg before. No, the window won't just fall and break. atleast mine didn't.
I know you said your fuses were ok, but isn't there a relay under the hood for that as well? Maybe could be that.
You said the pass. side works, can you put the pass. window down from the driver's switch ?
Also, if you could get +12volts to the window motor itself, that would also give you and idea if it is the motor or something else, such as wiring or relay.

I have a Haynes but the instructions are so vague, and since I am not really "handy", I need a more detailed one like Helms.
I guess if I can't find the answer here, I'll buy a Helms.

wrong. there is no such sensor. I have had my motor.regulators out before, and hooked them up to a direct power source. The regulator only extends so far. That's how the window "knows" when to stop going up.
I have the helms on my computer...i'll see if i can't copy and paste on here what you need.
