Here is the story:

I have a 2000 Integra GS (b18b), runs great, except for when the check engine light..... obviously.

When I run the code, it is either throwing either one or a combination of these four codes:
P0300- Random Misfire detected
P0301- Misfire detected on cylinder 1
P0302- Misfire detected on cylinder 2
P0303- Misfire detected on cylinder 3
P0304- Misfire detected on cylinder 4

Here is what i've tried on it so far:
- Changed cap, rotor, sparkplugs, wires.
- Adjusted valves
- Fuel injector cleaner (and took a road trip)

This that i'm going to attempt to do as i have time:
-change fuel filter
-replace injectors

Since I am with Progressive for insurance, they have all the recalls and technical issues listed for me, and this is listed under the technical section, and i can't figure out how to get to the bulletin to read it:

Bulletin Date: FEB 2000
INFORMATION ON DIAGNOSING VEHICLES WITH THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP (MIL) ON INTERMITTENTLY AND MISFIRE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES STORED WITHOUT AN ENGINE PERFORMANCE PROBLEM. ( NHTSA ITEM NUMBER - 618760 )

Does anyone have any other possible solutions or similar problems that they have fixed?

 

does nobody know anything about this? or is this too technical?

 

Run a compression test.

 

compression test is good: it could also be the coil.

i honestly think replacing the injectors will be a waste of money. if you have a multimeter or ohmeter, check the resistance of the injectors, they should all be about 12-14 depending on temprature. and they shouldnt vary more than about .1 ohm. if they are bad, THEN replace them.

id have to put my money on this being a spark problem. possibly compression but i think thats unlikely.

I mean, i've found quite a few different possibilities looking through the net, but I couldn't figure out what the most effective approach would be to it.

bump, my integra starting throwing p0304 but seems to be running fine.

 

what kind of injector cleaner did you run?

i had the same problem, I an some cheapo cleaner from autozone, and it did nothing. So then i ran seafoam, and my car is fine now.

 

Bump, i have the same problem as stealth. and i have done the exact same things before finding this thread (tune up, seafoam, and valve adjust), did you ever figure out what parts are fixed on the TSB? i must know, my car wont pass inspection because of the CEL!!! Anyone?!

 

I'm having the same problems with my 1998 integra ls. I changed the spark plugs, wire, cap, and rotor. Next, I'm going to try that seaform tech and see if it works also. Any luck fixing your car?

BUMP SAME PROBLEM

 

replaced fuel filter today and used injector cleaner as well, code is still up. i was planning on seafoaming it but i heard it doesnt really help at all from a Honda performance/maintenance shop around the area. i hear a bit of clicking in my distributor so i plan on borrowing a friend of mine's and see if thats the case. ill post results the next day for the others that still have these problems.

 

CEL light didnt go away. so i changed the dizzy, CEL light went away but who knows if it will turn on the next day. hopefully it wont

 

im a honda mechanic and i just bought an 98 ls and as i was driving home the CEL came on. I pulled the codes and I got the exact same codes. I pulled off the valve cover to adj. the valves when i noticed my exhaust cam was one tooth off. I put the engine back in time and adjusted the valves (weren't too far out of adj) and put her back together. Car ran smooth as hell and no more misfire codes. Check to make sure your timing hasn't jumped. Hope this helps. Good luck guys

 

try reseting the ecu or a different ecu my friends da did this and it was the ecu that was bad

 

I would put money on your camshaft position sensor being faulty. I know on the civics it is on the top of the timing belt area on the side on the cylinder head. Not exactly sure where it is on your integra but would guess it would be in the same area. The last one I changed was about $60 for the OEM one on a 02 civic. Good Luck.
