skunk2 shocks???
Im thinking about getting skunk2 shocks for my 98 integra ls and was wondering if you guys can let me know if they're any good or not? So should i go with skunk2 or a different type of shock? let me know and post up your opinions! thanks!
first off whats your budget or price range? i have the skunk2 sports shocks on my dc with h&r race springs for bout 4 months now so far so good they ride pretty good and smooth if price isn;t an issue there are the agx, illuminas, and koni sports. All three are adjustable dampening with koni being the best out of the three mention and more expensive
kyb agx!!! i had skunk2 struts on my rhd hatch with shitty ractive coils while i was waiting for my one pieces to arrive.. held up well for being on terrible coils.. overall they were strong and helped the ride alot! i would recommend if you had to keep it cheap.. but if you have 400 to spend add a little more cash and get function form/omni/d2 onepieces brother!
Significant lowering will require very stiff rates to handle the lack of suspension travel. Very stiff rates will require good shocks to handle the springs.
OTS GC springs aren't stiff enough to ride dumped without frequent bottoming out, which kills ride quality.
Bilstein Sport/HD or Tokico Illumina shocks would be decent to pair with GC sleeves and massive lowering. KYB AGX might be acceptable too. Koni Sports require different GC sleeves, so can't go with those if you intend to keep the sleeves.
Nothing will will provide the "good smooth ride" you stated you wanted at that height though (aside from spending serious cash on really high end shocks).

There seems to be many varying opinions on this question. I will make an attempt to put some clarity to all of the information being thrown out. If your car is "slammed" then you need to be running high rate(stiff) springs if you are not going to run shocks with some degree of adjustibility. If you want to keep the same springs and coilover sleves from ground control then I would recomend KYB AGX struts combined with your ground control coilovers. They are a little pricey but they have 4 degrees of stiffness adjustibility which will really help to prevent from bottoming out. If you were to run them on 3 or 4 then I dont for see you having any problems with your "slammed" car. Save your money and get struts with some degree of adjustibility. They will help out greatly. Good Luck.
