Default Skunk2 mani. users....

After having my new intake manifold for almost a year I FINALLY got off my **** and installed it today. The performance is awesome.... all in the top end, but now I have a whistling sound coming from the t/b. I have checked all connections and have no leaks. It does idle alittle high also. Along with the mani. I have a new JDM ITR t/b and ITR AEM cai. Thanks for any insight.

the plenum of your IM and your TB are different sizes. You need to bore out your TB to 64.. or taper it to 64mm... the whistling is from the air going over the ridge caused from the size difference.

Thanks for that!!! Wish I would have thought of that. Now I miss my low end power...... oh and by the way, my idle is about 1k and I have adjusted the idle screw as far in as it will go, any suggestions on this too?

if you raise your ruel pressure the whistling will go away. raise it about 3-4 psi. my whistling went away, it is now at 41 psi. too much air not enough fuel.

You know.... I just noticed this, when I turn off the key, the famous K&N sucking noise is no longer there. Is that normal too?

Install went very smoothly. The hardest part to me was cutting in to the wire harness loom and rerunning the wires for the a/t sensor and the IACV sensor, and that really wasn't too bad either. Jumbos, what throttle body is your friend using and what intake. Thank you to everyone so far.

BTW, if I get my t/b bored to 64mm, what t/b gasket should I use because the stock R one won't be able to be cut to 64mm.

My friend kept his stock GS-R throttle body and is using a AEM CAI (Type R)

Just FYI.... I took the JDM R t/b off and noticed that the USDM gasket doe not completely seal the t/b on the bottom side. I switched over to my GSR gasket and has cured some of the whistling.

Okay, tonight I swapped the GSR t/b out and NO whistling.... so what that means is that on the JDM itr t/b a vacuum port on the bottom is not being plugged or vented to to inside of the t/b port in the manifold. I plugged it and have no whistling with the ITR t/b anymore but I would like to buy a JDM ITR t/b gasket to fix it right. Anybody know where I can get one......... and I don't want to use Hondabond on it either.
