I think it's the other way around. RSR has a sub division of their company called Invidia.

Re: Intentional misuse of the RS-R brand and trademark by Invidia Products
Dear Valued Customers:
It has come to our attention that there may be some confusion in the market regarding the identification of automobile exhaust systems using the RS-R brand. Please be informed that the knock-off systems sold under the "Invidia" brand are not authorized to use the RS-R brand, or any other brand owned by TMC Co. Ltd. ("TMC").
You are hereby notified that TMC bears no liability for any past, current or future damage or loss, latent or otherwise that may arise from the purchase or use of any exhaust systems sold under the "Invidia" brand name, regardless of any unauthorized RS-R markings affixed to the products, its packing, or any other superficial similarities these forgeries might have with RS-R branded products.
The above brand-confusion is attributable in part to the intentional misrepresentations and unauthorized use by Invidia of the RS-R brand listed in the following examples:
1) RS-R has been identified with Invidia on some websites. Some examples of such unauthorized and misleading misidentifications are: "Invidia/RSR…steel exhaust," "RSR Invidia Exhaust system," "RSR Invidia Muffler," or "Exhaust system produced by RS-R Invidia"
2) The Invidia web address; " http://www.invidiarsr.com"
3) Invidia muffler packaging which has the RS-R trademark on the inside of the packaging.
Although there was a period (between 1994 and 1996) in which TMC manufactured and sold car exhaust systems under the Invidia name in Japan, the Invidia name is NOT currently lawfully associated with RS-R or TMC. Since the above noted period, TMC has not attached any other brand name except RS-R or EXMAG to any exhaust system it manufactures and sells in Japan, or anywhere else in the world.
All TMC manufactured exhaust systems legitimately sold under the RS-R brand name have the product plate clearly marked with "Made in Japan," whereas Invidia products only have arbitrary Japanese script displayed on the packaging.
Although it is often said that, "Imitation is the highest form of flattery" we are not in the least flattered by this unauthorized use of our trademark, the dilution of our name or fraud perpetrated on our potential customers.
Please protect yourself from this ongoing fraud by purchasing only products marked with RS-R or EXMAG names.
I hope that the above explanations will clarify any confusion in this matter. Thank you for your continued interest in and loyalty to the RS?R brand.
Best Regards,
Takeo Hayashi
