I'm installing a Skunk2 IM on my 01 GSR and I was wondering if that black support bracket is needed. I can't seam to find a suitable place for it to bolt to the skunk2. Can I just remove it and shorten that large (about 1.5in) coolant hose that snakes through it to the firewall? If not can someone clue me in as to how it bolts up. All the installation instructions I find kind of breeze over that part. Pictures help me a lot.

 

Remove the bracket and metal portion of the coolant hose.

Slit the heater hose at the firewall with a razor blade and gently peel it away. The nipple is really thin-walled and if you pull too hard, you can either smash/deform the nipple or rupture something on the other side.

Use 5/8" fuel hose in its place with worm gear clamps instead of the original pinch clamps.

Don't need the bracket. Just extra Honda stuff.
