Default skunk2 cams?

i'm thinking about picking up some used skunk2 stage 2 cams. is there anyway possible to visually varify that they are skunk2 and that they're stage 2? also will these cams and some type R dual valve springs be safe for my gsr? or do i need to change other things like the retainers? thanks in advance.

there will be an s in the middle of one cam and a 2 on the other cam...stamped within the journals of the cams....you have to use full aftermarket springs and retainers or you will drop a valve.

go with stage 1's with just bolt ons. 11-1 or higher c/r you can use stage 2's. Stock compression and stage 2's will suck haha

skunk 2 stage 2 was the worst waste of money i have ever spent on my car, you need aftermarket valve train itr wont cut it because they arent even as stiff as your stock valve springs

Look into Rocket Motorsports cams. They have alot of good feedback from users.

Dont go for the Stage 2 cams. Overcamming ur motor. Your motor will run fine, but you wont get much more power over stage 1 cams on ur compression.

Also look into buddy club 3+ cams. They have amazing midrange gains over skunk stg 1. Peak hp wont be as high, but the midrange more than makes up for it.

as far as i know if u have s2 stg2 cams - civic tr pistons yield higher compression so its the good choice or itll run like **** (as far as i know). also shouldn u upgrade your valvetrain aswell?

Because your paying over 1500 bucks to get the job done good and right... that is half of a turbo kit. With a turbo you will actual get noticable gains not just a whole whopin 15 whp if that.

Things you will need
S2S2's
Cam Gears
Valvetrain
Tuneable ECU
Dyno Tune
High Comp Pistons and rings
And chances are you will need to get some machine work done to your block and head

actualy come to think of it that is probably closer to 2g's for only 15whp save your money and buy a turbo if you want speed NA cost way too much, if you dont want speed well then you made the right choice buying a honda
