Silverstar Headlights...Same problem?
I got some of the sylvannia silverstar headlights for my birthday about a year ago (april 22nd to be exact) Just this past week though my left headlight went out
. Now I know to be really careful when installing them to not touch the bulb with your figners cause the oils will burn them out quick. I guess what I am asking is, has anyone's silverstars burned out THIS fast because I remember when installing them I didn't touch the bulb what so ever and it has been less than a year since installation. I went out and bought some NOKYA extreme white ones which look really pimp...I hope they last...

I'm assuming that you're using 9005 bulbs. If that's the case, then a year on these bulbs isnt too bad. Remember 9005 bulbs are meant for high beams, as a result, they aren't designed for daily use.
we have silverstars on 4 of our cars for about a year now.. strange.. cuz the 98 accord bulb on the driver's side blew out twice.. my integra lost one.. but the other daily driver accord hasnt blown a bulb since.. completely random.. i guess some are good and others arent..
i swear they have some type of warranty... anyone up to help looking for the warranty on the website that spins u in circles? i'm sure they are hiding it in the website.. http://www.sylvania.com
so far i only found a $5 rebate...

PIAA 9005 Extreme White, 8 months so far... They're only 61 watts, instead of hte normal 9005 65 watts, so maybe they'll last longer.

lol.. i did the conversion with the silverstars...lasted just a little over one year, then one of the bulbs burnt out....then, i also said screw it and got HID's!
i look at it as even if it is a year, there is a significant difference over stock, and with a 30 dollar price tag, its just not that big of a deal.

Did you do the 9005 conversrion? I had a feeling they weren't going to last long, about a year later they my left side went out too. The funny thing is, i couldn't even tell they were out, as i pulled in to my friends house they had to tell me. 9005 has pretty good light output for halogens.
As others stated above, the 9005s were ment to be used as high beams, which isn't used for long periods of time. This is what i think the main factor was when mine went out, which isn't bad for 1 yr

It was my 9006 left bulb (low beam) that burnt out but after reading everyones replies I guess I'm not the only one. My high beams still work fine. Oh and I did do all 4 bulbs in the conversion 9005 and 9006.

I've only gotten about a year from most of the bulbs I've tried. I had Silverstars but didn't like them. They look like stock. I had Raybrigs and they lasted about a year. Cuzos looked good but didn't last. Polargs not really very white, didn't last either.
Now I have some of the "JDM Yellow" bulbs. I kinda like 'em, but they aren't very bright (like some friends I have).
