Default side moldings

I did a search and alot of info came up about removing the side moldings. The body shop that is doing the work for me wants to charge me for removing the rear interior. The guy claims that with the heat something might get damaged what do you guys think?

what does removing your side moldings have to do with your rear interior?! Tell that guy he's a jack *** and you can pull out the rear interior yourself! LOL it seriously takes about 5 minutes to do it.

first off there is a few inch gap between your interior pieces and where the side molding is on the body, second if he is worried about heat ruinging the interior pieces then i wouldnt be having him do any body work because if there is that much heat then he will probably warp the metal body panels...

How would you do it without taking the rear interior out? You won't even get the moldings off... but just do it yourself so you don't have to pay for it. You have to do it though to get the moldings off then weld little plates over the holes before you fill them in with bondo. But yes, I could see how welding would maybe melt some stuff... either way though, you're not going to get any welding done if the interior is in the way.

You need to take out the rear panels to get to the clips holding the rear side molding

yah you need to take the interior out to get to clips but im saying that if hes getting thigs so hot that the interior pieces may melt or warp that its then going to be too hot and warp the body panels
