I noticed a sound coming from my engine bay when I gave the engine alot of throttle and today was looking at my tie rod ends when I noticed my mounts are shot, they are all dry rotted and torn. I heard to go w/ Aftermarket mounts like urethane ones for strenth any one have recomendations? Its a 99 LS auto BTW

 

you might be able to use some poly inserts instead of whole new mounts

 

get energy suspension inserts for like 35 bucks, but if the mounts are busted than you you need new mounts.

 

I upgraded to Innovative Mounts and recommend the company one hundred percent! I have the race (mid-level) polyurethane mounts with a 75a Durometer Rating and the difference is noticable. The dashboard and other items do rattle at lower rpm's, but shifting and other aspects of driving seem a lot more solid.

I have an auto so probably I will get a softer kind but in poly... I think the mounts themselves are busted not the inserts.
BTW the busted mount I saw was when I took my wheel off right behind the inner wheel well (the one sitting down low, does that Innovative kit include that one?

The kit they have includes three of the four, and then the fourth is sold seperately. Although when I talked to them on the phone they were having a "special" and sold me all four together for a good price. Best bet is to give them a call, they are very helpful and knowledgable!
