need new motor mounts BAD!
Everytime I downshift .. I feel my engine hit the firewall. Anyhow, I've heard about massive vibrations from the dash if using certain mounts. I think they were talking about those billet mounts? Will Energy Suspension Inserts do that?
What should I look to pay for new mounts. And exactly how many mounts do I have?

certain mounts are supposed to be race only compound so they're more stiff. if you're just wanting to make yours a little better, just invest in a set of urethane inserts like you'd mentioned. otherwise, save up for some hasport mounts.

I have es inserts. They vibrate noticeably under 1krpm. It doesnt really bother me, but it does bother me when i have passengers, cuz i am considerate like that.
bottom line, it's a tradeoff. es will prob cause the least amount of vibration out of whats available and they are plenty stiff imo.

Re: need new motor mounts BAD! (tilt)
are they your engine mounts or your torque mounts?
http://www.jimfab.com has 3 torque mounts for 100shipped.
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/marketplace.htm has hasport mounts.
also check out hasport (use search engine) they have pictures of the upper mounts and such.

Same thing as motor mounts. Some like to refer to the front lower 2 as "torque" mounts. I don't.

i needed new ones to, so i opt for the ES inserts. like TILT said the vibration is really notieable under 1krpm. If you dont mind your car vibrateing like crazy sounding like somthings wrong with it, i would definatly recommend them.

Ive had good experiences with filling your stock mounts with Uretheane filler. 3M window weld works well.
-sander
PS this only works well if your stock mounts are in good condition interms of shape, for good bolt alignment

good pic
I know I'm bringing this back from the dead (along with a few other mount threads ) but it beats starting a new one and hoping for responses.
does anyone know of a complete (all five mounts) kit for the DC, or if all five mounts are needed?
it's dark now, but tomorrow I'm going to check out all five areas.....that rear one under the im is going to be tricky to check out
