Default short throw ?

I'm installing my new short throw right now and I'm comparing the old lever with the new one...and I just thought it was odd that above the ball, they're both the same length, and below the ball, my new short throw is longer than the old lever; is that right? I'll post a pic.

Thats how it shortens the throw, by changing the leverage. Because its longer below the ball, when you mode the shifter **** the same amount, you move the lowe connector more, which means the **** doesn't have to move as far. Hum, I'm not the best at explaining things.

Yes, thats correct. Thats also why, sometimes, a short throw will rattle against exhaust, because it hangs down further.
