Default Shifting problems

I have tried the search feature, but did not quite find what I was looking for. I have a 97 Integra LS with 95000 on it. I am having trouble down shifting always & when shifting sometimes. 1st to 2nd is tough but 2nd to 3rd & 3rd to 4th are no big deal. I was thinking master & or slave cylinder problems. I really doubt the syncros are bad personally. I have bled the system, no air & clean, but the problem still persists. The clutch is engaging roughly halfway. There are no leaks in either cylinder which is why I am baffled. What do you guys think it most likely is ? I have called around & the Master costs between $40-100 & the Slave is $16-70. Would like NOT to be guessing w/o some other input. Thanks in advance !!!

it's tough to say without further input on exactly what you are "feeling"

is it the stock clutch?

if so, might be time to replace it

Also change your tranny fluid with some genuine Honda MTF... Energy Suspension poly shifter bushings help give a crisper feel to shifts, try em for $15

yea, flush your trans, and use Honda MTF.
Should help, unless you have other problems.

I had a problem like this with a car that I recently got rid of. The best thing for you to do is to try flushing your trans and check your cluth

i had the exact same problem with my GSR 2 weeks after i bought it. i would redline 2nd and it wouldn't go into 3rd gear. and when i downshifted i would have to push the clutch in a couple times to get it to go in gear. after i while my clutch felt weaker, and my car shook when i took off in first. i didnt know what it was either and was scared it was the transmission, but it turns out that stock clutches suck, and cant handle much abuse, so i put a clutchmaster in it and that solved everything.

what more can be said you will have the smoothest transmission with honda mtf if problem presists then it is probablly time for a new clutch. And yes the stock clutch cannot handle hard driving for very long.
