Default Shifter

is it me or is this normal.. this is the 2nd car that i've driven did this. when i shift from 1st to 2nd sometime its smooth as butter.. other times i'd feel like the shifter is going into one bump.. out and than into another and into the gear i selected.. sometimes it doesn;t do this..

basically feels like the shifter is passing thru lil bumps.

its suppose to be like this or what?

this is a 95 acura LS 5spd

I'm not sure, but maybe your synchros are going bad. Just throwing out some ideas.

it's just a spring pushing a ball bearing into a little bivet (indent) in the shifter fork.
thats not a flaw, thats just how they are, thats the pieces that hold the transmission in gear.
if it didnt do that then it would always pop out of gear.

Well.. maybe some details at the RPMS you have trouble would be nice.
I don't see how it randomly at ANY given rpm it would be good/bad.
