Shift Points
I shift at 2000 in my GSR when I'm being a loser and holding up traffic and pissing off the world because gas costs $3.20 a gallon..
I shift at 7,000 when I'm feelin spunky

Holy ****, I thought I had it bad paying $2.99 a gallon. Now that I said that gas just shot up some more.
To the OP, shift wherever you feel comfortable. If I am just driving around town I usually shift at 3K-4K, if I am at the track or feel like <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Robstunner4 »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i shift when vtech owns me</TD></TR></TABLE> Then I will shift at 8K-9K.
But like other people have said, go to the civic forum. We dont have SOHC so you might want to look in there.
DOHC > SOHC FTW

No, that's only when You say shift points, not Someone.
And guess what, that can either be called a "Rev limiter", or "Fuel cutoff",
I know, I know, lotta words you have to learn, but try hard
You're a stupid Tool, next time try being a little more descriptive,
and better at Asking questions and you won't be flamed as bad.
Oh, and you have a Civic, not an integra, so why are you in this section?
Oops, it's because you think you have a "JDM 92 teg motor" ohh yeah,
so you practically have an integra and not a civic, my bad.
And btw, my car isn't flat black *****. \ </TD></TR></TABLE>

jesus, another missed thread. to the OP: the only way to know when your best shift point is... assuming you mean when youre racing, since you cant make anything clear or obvious: you have to have your car dynoed to see where your peak power it at. boltons will change your powerband and peak power.

anyways, shift points for max gas milage is at 3k going easy on the gas.</TD></TR></TABLE>
the first tank i measured in my b16 hatch was with my beating the **** out of it, got 29 mpg. then the next tank, i drove the car every day and pussyfooted it around town, shifting at 2500. got 26.

Thank you Ben18a for anwering my question. For as i asked in the first place. It hard to ask questions without getting critizied in this forum. But I also have a 1989 Suzuki Swift GTi with a mk3 motor and tranny. Im working on it right now.

This is somewhat misleading. The optimal shift point for gear n to gear n+1 is when the power in gear n equals the power in gear n+1. Normally you do need a dyno plot for this. However with a stock DOHC VTEC engine, the power peak is so lofty that the optimal shift point is just before the rev limiter. Yes, you are producing less power than peak, but you are still producing more power than at say 6000 RPM. With that engine design, the power in gear n+1 is always less than the power in gear n upon shifting.
The optimal shift point is always beyond the horse power peak.

Its my goal to antagonize you.
Because if you look around and ask some of the guys who own B16's, you'll get a better response.
But since you can't spell and you keep thinking your being brilliant with your posts, I'll just let you blow your **** up. It'd make me happy anyway.
Please next time you drive your car, just floor it in first and not shift.
