Default Shift Issues (Searched)

Ok so driving home last night my car was kinda sputtering leaving in 1st gear, but then it would be fine after that. So I was at a stop light and my car wouldn't go into any gears.

Now I know Its not my clutch, it was just replaced less than a year ago and I am not hard on it in any way. The gears work fine with the car off and the linkage is good and everything looks in order.

We called a local acura dealer and they said something about a brake switch. No idea if that would be it but they said the brake lights wouldn't work if that was the case but they do. (They haven't called back yet since we saw the brake lights working.

Anyone have a clue?!?

check your master cylinder and slave cylinder. I had the same problem and it turned out to be my slave cylinder.

check if you have brake fluid first. its possible you have a leak in the slave or master cylinder and losing brake fluid.

sounds to me like the acura dealership was diagnosing an automatic tranny. The brakes would have no effect on if you could shift a manual tranny or not.
