Default SEARCHED .........Idle problem

i have a 95 gsr and ive been havin a problem that just all of a sudden came up my idle keeps bouncing up and down when i first start the car in the morning it goes all the way to 3.5k and it stays theres steady and as the car warms up it goes lower and lower to about 2.5k and then it goes from 2k and bogs down to 1k ive changed the IACV with another used one but still the same problem is there any other thing i can check be4 i go out to acura and buy a new IACV.????ive checked to see if all the hoses are plugged in and all of them are. i ordered already the little gasket that goes between the IACV and the mani looks like the number 8 so if that doesnt fix it idk wat will need help ASAP.

I would say the IACV, but you say you tried that. I dunno.....have you done any motor work lately? Vacuum leak? Maybe try another IACV?

Did you break out the multimeter on it? Or even on the TPS? I'd try doing easy stuff first before spending money and replacing stuff.

can the throttle body be wats doing it??? i took off the air intake and i noticed theres a hole inside the throttle body that is sucking in air and when i put my finger over it the RPMS go down can that be wats making the car idle like crap???

As mentioned, try the little things first. I cleaned my throttle body and intake manifold with carb cleaner. You can change the PCV as a start also. That helped smooth out my idle problem.

Hmm...1k RPM is still pretty high. It should be idling at 750 RPM after it's been warmed up.

It sounds like it is your FITV (Fast Idle Thermal Valve). You need to take it off the throttle body, take the 2 little 8 mm screws off that hold a little cover on, look at the white washer looking thing that has 2 gooves opposite of each other and tighten that down until snug. That should fix your problem hopefully. Do a search on FITV because I know there is a write-up with pictures that explains everything in full detail. Hope it helps you out!!

problem solved it was the FITV it was loose i just screwed it back in and its working perfectly right now thanks alot AIminiS10 idles beutifully at 750 rpm

Hey no problem, I had the same thing with mine a little while back and drove me nuts. I found the answer on here and now it is purring like a kitten!!
