Default Is the RS compatible with a VTEC head?

I know for some of you, this may be a newbie question, and I did search...but nothing came up on the RS/VTEC search...so my question is if its possible to build a vtec head on a RS? I've read so much about the LS/VTEC...but nothing on a RS/VTEC..can someone school me on this? Also, the car is an auto. I know many of you will say that auto is not the ideal platform for mods...but a manual is just not my cup of tea. Thanks!

The RS, GS, and LS models all came with a B18B.

like everyone else said, RS, LS, GS, SE all have the same motor, the B18 non-vtec. So when they said ls/vtec they really just mean b18b/vtec.
Also, the reasons people say modding an automatic is a waste are valid.
The automatic will always be slower than a manual with similar mods because the gearing is just worse.
And the torque converter on your stock transmission can't really hold up to high increases in horsepower. There's a guy on team-integra with an automatic ls/vtec, but he had to upgrade to a level Ten tranny. That's alot of money.

I'm not lecturing, i'm just stating that an ls/vtec automatic project is going to be a costly one, with probably more headaches then anything else.

you need to run a search. There's way too much info for ls/vtec to be explained in one post. There's tons of information on honda-tech and team-integra that will teach you the ins and outs of ls/vtec.
And whether or not it's reliable is a matter of opinion, but mostly, no, it will not be reliable. For the money you're better off just doing a GSR swap.

haha...unfortunately, I think the RS stands for regular series...not sexy at all

but if you drop a gsr in there...it can be an RS*R

I love my RS
