Default Rotors

Is there a good place to buy rotors for my GSR? It's a high mileage car and I'm just looking for something to get by with and cheaper than OEM.

Thanks

Get some Autozone Blanks. They're pretty cheap at $21/rotor and they're decent quality. I have no complaints with them and they even come with a 90 day warranty.

I third this idea. They have 90 day warranty on Valucraft ($14), and 2 year on Duralast ($22), both are very good. Usually the stores either don't stock as much or run out of the cheaper ones, but they always have the Duralast ones.

Just make sure you break-in your new pads and rotors, and they will do very well.

i've been using my autozone lowest model rotors all the way around on my LS for over 2 years and i've never had problems with warping, cracking, or anything. i've beaten on the brakes occasionally, no really big race courses or anything, but i use 'em really hard on the street all the time. integra brakes just feel so good . . . i can't help it! stopping is almost as much fun as going sometimes!

as an autozone employee, i fourth this. if you just want something to get you by, get the valucraft. if you want to spend 5-10 bucks more, you can get the duralast with a 2 year warranty.

Brembo does make some good rotors, but I'd still recommend Autozone rotors. I don't think that the Brembos would out perform the Autozone rotors. In the end, I think that good pads and brake fluid would have more of an effect on braking than the rotors.

when i said i had used mine for 2 years w/ no problems, i meant i had been using the cheap ones with practically no warranty. they've been fine, and i'd have to imagine that the better ones are, well, better. but i don't care. next time they're due, i'm going for Axxis Ultimates and autozone cheapie rotors

how much are you going to pay to have them turned?
and shaving the rotors, only makes them more likely to warp

for another couple bucks just buy a new rotor

Does anyone have any input as to how long the autozone rotors will hold up to frequent autocross events?

from my experience, autocross has no adverse effect on rotor life

HPDE on the other hand, kills rotors fast

yeah, autocross doesn't need big brakes. you don't go fast enough to get the rotors really hot, so bigger/denser rotors are is just a means to gain evil rotating mass. and that's all the better rotors are is denser, so they hold more heat. also minor changes in alloy, but who's counting?
