rim size?? and effects
i have 17 inch rims on my hatch, and i have an ls swap, a lot of ppl tell me that i would be much quicker if i drop down to like 15's or even 16 inch wheels...how true is that??
the bigger wheels you get the slower acceleration so basically your loosing your tourqe out of your ls motor plus 17's are too heavy, get a light rims go with a 15inch
17inch
17inch
ok , i kinda thought so lol i waz jus being hard headed cuz 1st i waz going for looks...but then i started researchin about the b series motors and got all into it, so now after gettin my swap im leaning more towards the speed side, but i still want it to look good lol im thinkin about dropin to some 16's maybe some gloss black with a chrome lip or something, remember im still going for looks lol other wise i would through some gsr blades on there
but nahhh lol
but nahhh lol
16's are good but make sure you get a light wheel so you can most out of your tourqe and if your going for looks there is a lot of rims out there that are nice
i was looking at some konigs right now on ebay, they're pretty cheap, i like the designs with the machined lips and black on it...so i guess its time to find someone to buy my rims right now...ive only had em for like 6 months lol long live my motegi black cobras
lol

this is the wheel i'm talking about. discount tire has some pretty good out the door prices. 16s were like $480 a set out the door. give or take, can't remember the exact.

Nothing wrong with a 15x6.5, they're lighter than equivalent 15x7's and you can still fit 225/45/15's and 225/50/15's on them.

It's not an easy answer there are a lot of variables. Rim width and weight play an important role. You can run a wider tire on a 17" rim than you can on a 15" rim...in some cases the 15" rim will be lighter but will have a smaller contact patch...it really depends on how much money you have to spend. 17" RPF's are a lot lighter than many 15" wheels. There is always going to be a trade off.

ya ive got a pair on 15's and 17's and ive noticed that with the 15 i spin them a lot more cause im used to there being more contact with the road. just make sure the WHEEL size is the same as stock not the rim size. a larger or smaller one will change your gearing slightly and cause you to read and higher or lower speed. im pretty sure neways......
