Why in the world would my rev-limiter kick in at 6500 rpm all the time? Could it be cause my MSD ignition is going bad?

 

Ummm do you by any chance have the 6AL or SCI-L w/ the soft-touch rev limiter? See if the ignition box has a little rectangular white pill w/ 6500 marked on it. Swap that out w/ a higher pill to change the limiter.

 

Or if could be that your tach is off. Stock tachs are not very accurate at high revs... although I think they usually read higher rpms... something to thing about anyway.
