Default replacing head bolts

Is it possible to replace the head bolts once the head is on the car? Like can i take 1 at a time out?

Do i get the flat or dished retainer from a k series to fit a b series?

yes....and yes but losses all of them 1/2 a turn then go over a 2nd time and undo them 1 turn. then you can take then out at any order, some ppl may say just loosen one at a time but be safe that's how I do it. From what I know they are interchangeable all the same

When only changing head bolts, you should replace each bolt one at a time. Loosening all the bolts in any order and then replacing them could allow the head gasket to shift or break the seal between the head and block.

Why would you need to only change your head bolts? Did you re use old bolts when you were reassembling your engine?

I assume he probably wants to upgrade to ARP head studs. This would be a great time to upgrade.

Might as well just pull the head and do it properly. IMO its not worth the hassle and time trying to save the head gasket. Head gaskets dont cost that much and if your timing belt/water pump hasnt been replaced in a while your already half way there.
