Replace rod bolts when replacing bearings
I'm going to be putting in a new camshaft in my B18C1, as well as main bearings and rod bearings. Should I replace the rod bolts as well? and can I do this without having to take the piston out of the cylinders? Just trying to not have to take the head off and get the block machined and cylinders honed since it was just done. Thanks
umm i would did u say its a gsr.. so i imagine ur gonna b twistin sum rpms.. i would have everythin balance believe me it will b worth ur time and money.. i mean i would do it reguardless of its a gsr or ls or type r.. the rod bolts r the weakest part of the bottom end.. i would go arp man good luck
ya man just take the head off throw some arps in there look at the rings to while you got the damn thing out it might not be a bad idea to put some new rings in it and plastiguage them bearings hate to see you have to tight or to loose and spin on good luck
