Removing the rear spoiler?
Just wondering how many of you have removed the rear spoiler on your intergras. Do you you just use plug holes to fill the holes? Any problem that you have encountered with removing the factory spoiler? Pictures?
You can plug the holes, or you can do body work and weld them up. You can probably rig something up with bondo too, but I wouldn't recommend it.
What "encountered problems" are you talking about? I don't really see anything that could be a problem. Perhaps the fact that you now don't have a middle brake light (illegal) since you removed it (it was on the spoiler).
If you want to be legal, just get a middle brake light assembly and slap it on. If you don't care about legality, then you're all set with out it.

That's because your car is a LS/SE/GS... Only the GSRs came with the rear wing spoiler from the factory, therefore no rear third brake light, the LS/SE/GS had the rear wing spoiler put-on as an Dealer Option (Not Factory Option), that's why you have the Third Brake Light Rear Wing Spoiler Light thing.

I don't know of any problems, I just wanted to know if anyone else has run into problems when removing the spoiler... like the holes leak, paint looks, the holes are to big to plug... that kind of stuff.

I've had my wing's LED light stuck in my back window for almost 2 years now. I just had the wing holes welded up last weekend, looks tiiiiite.

Legality really depends on where you live. Where I live law states that you have to have 2 working tail lights. Meaning if you removed your spoiler it would still be legal. I figured that was national law. Many cars don't have a 3rd brake light on them, but maybe that has changed in recent years.
I know this is an old thread, but I found it through searching so maybe someone else will find it again too.
Just wanted to add a little bit of information.
All street legal cars in the US since the 1986 model year have been required to have a center high mount stop light (CHMSL) aka. third brake light. Street legal trucks also now have the law, butit came into play with 1994 models. This is a nationwide law, not just statewide.
This is why you'll see '92-'00 Civic coupes and sedans all have a third brake light in the rear window. Spoilers were optional on all of those body styles. The hatches all had theirs on their spoilers, which were standard. I don't know about all Integras since 1986 offhand, but according to the US law they would be required to have a CHMST from the factory also.
NHTSA: CHMSL

just throw some tape over the holes until u have the funds to get them welded over. i have the same problem with mine since i put the type r wing on the stock SE trunk lid, there's still 2 holes that the R wing doesnt use. i used black electrical tape and have no leaks.
I got some black plugs from auto zone.
They are ment for the car interior snaps for panels and what not.
But they look clean and you don't have to pay for the body shop, and you have the option retruning the car to stick down the road.
