Default removing power steering

i did a search found some useful information but need some more.
anybody who has ever taken of their power steering belt please give some feed back on how you did it and how it felt and if you think it is worth the trouble

I tried it for about a day, I did not like it the steering was very heavy and I did not notice much power improvement. But it is very easy just to try out it only takes a short time to take off and put it back on.

Yes the steering is very heavy when you're not moving because of all the pressure and fluid in the system. If you're serious about removing it, I would suggest doing something like what has been posted in the ITR forum about having some sort of breather setup to relieve pressure, with only a small amount of fluid in the rack. I drove my friend's Civic CX coupe w/o PS the other day, and it was much easier to drive than my car w/o the PS belt.
