Default remove cat

I was wondering which would have more of a HP gain and a better sound?

1. 2.5" piping, Highflow cat, 18" resonator, Magnaflow muffler
2. 2.5" piping, No Cat, 2- 18" resonator, Magnaflow muffler

what kink of teg? either way if its just bolt ons...i wouldnt recommend 2.5 try 2.25...depends on the year too...if your teg is obd2...and you take out your cat conv its gonna put the ecu in limp mode meaning the o2 sensors gonna constantly operate in OPEN LOOP. a workin o2 sensor runs open loop when cold and closed when warm.

but... if your teg is obd1...no worries!

Cars seem to sound better with a cat, but either way it is all in the muffler. I didnt notice any difference going from a 2.5" carsound High-Flow to a testpipe... but I have a quiet exhaust. I recommend you save your money for a while and drop the 5bills on an RSR ex-mag like me... best exhaust Ive ever owned.

Im driving a '91 teg sedan. And my debate is whether to keep or take out the cat. I was told removing the cat give better performance. Is this true?

You might make 1-2 more horsepower than with a high-flow cat (though the difference will probably be more on a turbo car). If it were me, I would go with the test pipe, because emissions and noise is not a huge issue where I live.

It's really about preference, between the two exhaust setups you posted, the difference won't be that large.

i recently swapped out the cat. on my 94 integra ls, and replaced it with a testpipe/resonator. i have a 2.5in catback with a random ebay muffler my car is sooooooo muc more louder now, and it doesnt even sound that good anymore. so now i'm going 2 order a highflow cat and throw that on their instead of the pipe.

get straight pipe, make sure to match up ur piping with your header size and exhaust size, get a testpipe and one resonator and you'll be fine if you are stock with boltons. if u go 2.5 piping its loud and i think u lose power. going straight pipe u lose low end, around 1-3 thousand rpm but other then that u gain the rest.

So with 2 18" resonators will give a better sound then a cat and a 18" resonator? I want something deep not raspy or rice.
